| Description: | A new Health Informatics Specialist Workforce Strategy for England is being developed, based on research and intelligence gathered from across the NHS and other key stakeholder groups and organisations. The aim is to have a draft ready for consultation in April/May 2010. To help inform the content and to test out ideas and assumptions, two workshops are to take place (25th February, London and 4th March 2010, York) aiming to bring together a cross-section of stakeholders from a wide range of groups, disciplines and levels. The workshops will be open to those working in and working for the NHS with a vested interest in informatics workforce development. Aims: This consultation workshop is intended to: - Gather views on key issues and priorities to be addressed in a new workforce strategy to inform the refinement of the emerging draft strategy - Specifically to consult on a proposal to develop a sustainable national infrastructure to support workforce development in the medium to longer term - Enable completion of a draft strategy for wider consultation in April/May 2010 |
